Pastor: Dr. Martin Emmrich

Pastor Emmrich, having been born and raised in Germany and studied at the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University, Frankfurt, before becoming a Christian, obtained his MAB from Westminster Seminary, Escondido, and his PhD in Biblical Hermeneutics from Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia. He is married to Rebecca since 1995, and they live in Whittier with their two daughters, Ella & Quinn. Martin taught at Seminaries and Christian Colleges/Universities from 1997-2003, then pastored two churches prior to Calvary, one in Wasilla, AK (2003-06), and his most recent congregation in Corvallis, OR, from 2007-19. Martin has also been visiting professor of Biblical Studies and Exegesis at RTS, Heidelberg, Germany, from 2012-17. He has published a number of books: Old and New (published 1/2022), Pneumatological Concepts in the Epistle to the Hebrews, At the Heart of Luke; Wisdom & Reversal of Fortune, Love in the Time of Corona, as well as numerous articles in theological journals. He remains a soccer buff, likes reading, writing, movies, food, and a good night’s rest.
